Las Angeles California Anime Expo 2018 at the Las Angeles Convention Center
Learning how to go to a Anime Expo
For anyone interested in anime the event of the year to go to is Anime Expo held in Las Angeles California during the summer months. Planing for the 2018 event began long before it was ever time to go. With a catalogue of events, panels, premiers, live streaming, shows, and shopping one can get overwhelmed with all the options let alone the the people. For those who could afford the premium pass, it was the way to go in circumnavigating the massively long lines and avoiding some other frustrations. Lines to get in and for various events and booths built up quickly leaving everyone eventual standing in long line. At one point people were waiting to enter as the convention had already closed. To avoid the long lines it was easier to circumnavigate the problem by showing up early and not bringing a bag.
In preparation for Anime Expo, L.A. Went all out in letting the people know that they had just stepped into a world dominated by Japanese culture.
The Event
The event was comprised of several different areas using the L.A. Convention center and several other halls found in the surrounding hotels. The sheer size of the event and its layout left anyone searching for the perfect manga or action figure searching for a needle in a haystack. Already having an idea of what action figures you are looking to get and what new releases are available is important because popular items are already gone by the second day. With upwards of 100,000 people in attendance, people's sheer volume left areas a sea of people. Everywhere you turned and everywhere you went, a pride of Anime goers and cosplay dressers that didn't stop.
The wonderful world of Cosplay
The was always a line to be had regardless of what the event was. Some times there was lines to stand in lines.
