Wyoming is a unique place where the antelope out number the amount of people. In contrast to Tokyo, Istanbul, and Paris, Wyoming in general is the complete opposite. Still, the state of cowboys and cowgirls there is truly amazing and beautiful things to be found and had in the great state. Unlike the hustle and bustle of the city, losing yourself to the vast openness can at times be overwhelming. The down side is the wind. Though paces like Chicago, Illinois has been nicknamed the “Windy City” parts of Wyoming have been known to get 100 mph plus winds for days on end.
The various seasons offer a unique display at the various times during the year. In my opinion I believe that spring offers the greatest time to see the beauty of Wyoming. The mornings are spectacular getting to see both the sun and the moon up at the same time uninterrupted buy that of a traditional city setting, its easy to lose yourself to the nervina of morning.
Take a dirt road and you might end up on the other end of the state with only crossing a real road maybe twice. With all the oilfield and uranium exploration that has and is ongoing it’s easy to get lost, especially when your cell phone services is quick to disappear.
The winters in Wyoming can be mild to harsh. Though there are times the state doesn’t get much snow there is always an abundant of wind. With nothing to stop the wind it is not uncommon to see snow fences of all sizes along with drifts several yards high. Still for those who love the out doors, hunting, camping and exploring Wyoming has a lot of natural beauty.
I absolutely love this picture take in the early spring after a rain storm. This was on the way to my first location while working in the oil Field.
